Community Home Repair Program (CHRP)

The Community Home Repair Program is temporarily operating at a reduced level during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are still accepting applications, but you can expect delays in the process as we catch up with a backlog of projects.

A small repair can make a MAJOR difference.

HFHLC’s Community Home Repair Program helps low-come families address critical needs in their homes by focusing on safety, accessibility and meeting municipal codes.  By offering repairs at a low cost, the program will help preserve and ensure safe, decent, and affordable housing in our community as well as assist seniors to age in place.

Critical Home Repair repayment will be based on household income.  A sliding scale will determine the direct cost for partner families.  Repayment options include a payment plan of up to 18 months.  Exact terms will vary, and the monthly payment will be based on income and current expenses.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the CHRP program:

  • You must qualify as a low-income household with a maximum of 80% Annual Median Income (AMI).  See chart below for 2020 maximum income levels.

  • You must own your home, and it must be located in Lincoln County, Oregon.

  • It must be your primary residence.

  • If there a mortgage on the home, you must be current with your payments.

  • You must be current on tax payments on your home.

  • You must have homeowner’s insurance.

  • You must be willing to partner with HFHLC.

    • You will be required to put in sweat equity, helping with the repair or providing service in a mutually agreeable way.

    • You will be required to help pay for the cost of materials, using a sliding scale based on gross annual income.  Payment plans are available.
