Is the ReStore open to the public?

Yes! Anyone is welcome to shop at the ReStore. Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County’s ReStore is located at 133 SE 1st Street in Newport, and open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 am – 3 pm.

What does the ReStore sell?

Sales items may consist of—but are not limited to: stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, carpet and padding, flooring, tools, new paint, windows, doors, and assorted furniture.

Check back often as our inventory changes frequently!

Where do items come from?

The ReStore accepts donations from contractors, suppliers, individuals and organizations. Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County’s ReStore performs a valuable community service by diverting large amounts of reusable materials from landfills and providing these products to the public at affordable prices.

How often do you get new merchandise?

Our inventory changes often, as we are receiving new items weekly.

What donations can the ReStore accept? 

þ  Appliances: Must be CLEAN and in working condition with all knobs present.  Generally we accept appliances up to 7 years old. We will make exceptions for antique or vintage items that are in good working condition.

þ  Bricks: New or used, must be clean.

þ  Cabinets and bath vanities: New or used; cabinets must be intact and clean, with or without countertops.  No metal cabinets. 

þ  Carpeting:  New carpet only.

þ  Countertops:  Straight sections only with no holes.

þ  Doors:  Exterior, interior, wood, steel, and patio security doors, French, sliding glass.

þ  Electrical:  Rust free, new or like new components.  Switches plates, switches, fuses, breakers, conduit, and etc.

þ  Fireplace Inserts:  Working condition and not dented.

þ  Furnaces:  Electric or gas, not more than 5 years old.

þ  Flooring:  New hardwoods, ceramic tile, granite and marble, vinyl flooring (linoleum).

þ  Furniture (household and office):  Clean in good condition (no rips, tears, or stains).

þ  Hardware:  Nails, bolts, screws, door knobs and various hardware. Not rusted or broken.

þ  HVAC:  Ducts, fittings, outlets.

þ  Insulation: Various types, R-13 and up.

þ  Lighting:  All types of working lighting.  

þ  Lumber:  Minimum 4’ lengths, no scrap lumber, no nails or concrete on wood.

þ  Mirrors:  No cracks or chips. 

þ  Plumbing: PVC, Copper, ABS fittings and various other piping.

þ  Plywood:  4x8 sheets, any thickness.

þ  Shingles:  New, various colors and styles.

þ  Sheetrock:  Minimum 4x8 sheets, any thickness.

þ  Siding:  New, all types of siding.

þ  Sinks:  Kitchen and bathroom (no rust marks, stains, or chips).

þ  Tile:  New

þ  Toilets:  Must be clean, no chips.

þ  Tools:  Power tools, hand tools, must be in working condition.

þ  Tubs:  No chip or rust stains.

þ  Water Heaters:  Electric or gas, not more than 3 years old.

þ  Windows:  Dual pane and vinyl windows, no older than 6 years old.

þ  Window Covering:  No metal blinds, drapes, or shades.

How do I go about donating an item?

If you have a donation that you’d like to make to the ReStore, you may bring it to the store Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10-3 or call 541-264-8585 to schedule a pick-up time.

 

Where do the proceeds from the sales go?

Proceeds earned from ReStore sales support Habitat For Humanity of Lincoln County's mission to build simple, decent and affordable housing.

Are my donations tax-deductible?

Your donation may be tax-deductible, depending on your individual situation. Please consult a tax professional and see this IRS publication for reference.

Does the ReStore place a value on the donation?

No, it is the donor’s responsibility to value the donation. A receipt acknowledging your donation will be provided to you at the time of the donation.

How can my business get involved?

Local businesses can contribute to the ReStore many ways, including: making a financial contribution, donating goods/materials, sponsoring a special event, placing an advertisement for or with the ReStore, volunteering at the ReStore, or shopping at the ReStore.

How can I help?

The ReStore is always searching for volunteers to help stock shelves, organize displays, pick-up donations, and assist with general store upkeep!
